Quicksave feature causes program to crash

Post by threezee »

Everytime I try to use the F12 Quicksave feature, the program crashes and gives me the old

"C64 Emulator for Win32/DirectX V9 has stopped working..."

Any idea what gives?

I'm running WIndows Vista, and I have DirectX V10...

I am using Windows 7. This bug has been confirmed and will be fixed in CCS64 V3.8.

I still have this problem... Once I open CCS64 3.8, and try to save a state, the emulator crashes. :(

I get the following error message:
"C64 Emulator for Win32/DirectX V9 has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

(And not so surprisingly, there was no solution available.)

If you need to know something about my laptop and OS in order to solve this problem/bug more easily, I have copy/pasted some information below.

I didn't have this problem with saving states before but back then I was using Windows XP and some older version of CCS64.

This is probably because CCS64 tries to save your state in a system protected directory like C:\Programs. Since Windows prohibits the creation or modification of files in such directories, CCS64 crashes. Try running CCS64 as admin...that should work.
