I'm on Windows 10 (free upgrade from Windows 7), running the latest version of CCS I could find. I have it running as an administrator and in Win7 compatibility mode. Every time I start it, however, I get the following error:
DirectSoundCreate(): DSERR_NODRIVER
I don't play with the sound (no ...

Alt + Tab woes. Any solutions?
I use Alt + Tab to switch to other windows while playing (usually walkthroughs or manuals or whatever I'm normally supposed to be doing when I'm actually playing games). When I Alt + Tab back, the Alt key is 'stuck'. That is, even though I'm not holding down the Alt key, other key presses are ...

Crush, Crumble, Chomp Manual?
Does anyone have a manual for this game? I'm trying to remember how to play and it's just not coming to me. I've figured out that the joystick is useless, that R turn you right and L turns you left. M seems to be Move? Sometimes? It's confusing. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I ...

Toggle Speed to something else?
Right now, when I press Alt-F3, the speed toggles between 100% and 500%. Is there a way to change that 500%? I know it's possible to set the speed in the options up to 10,000%, but what I'm asking about here is a way to change what Alt-F3 toggles between.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Anyone know this game?
In answer to the second part of my own question, the game there was Colonial Conquest. Found it recently.
Still trying for the first part, though.

Anyone know this game?
I played this game once or twice and, to be honest, I'm not even certain it was C64. It might be an early PC game. Either way, my friend had it and I liked it. I think it's called Conquest. Theres a typical map with land and water. You have bases or cities that allow you to construct various units ...

Mail Order Monsters
I love this game, but can't seem to get it to work properly. The game loads fine and plays perfectly in Beginner and Intermediate modes, but Tournament mode fails. It asks me to insert an 'Owner Disk'. Obviously I lack one of these, so I creates a black .D64 and told it to format that. I waited, it ...
