How to get your x1541 cablre to work on your new cpu. :)

The secret is in buying a good addon parallel port that can be set intp SPP or BPP (PS2) mode. I reccomend the Cyberparallel pci from SIIG. I own one, and using a simple dos program, it's mode can be configured into BPP ps2 parallel port) and then Star COmmander will see it under windoze fine. I brelieve this utility even works under w2k command line.

Once you've set it out of ECP mode and intp BPP mode, it works fine with x1541 cables.

If you rcpu still has ISA slots, you can go much cheaper, and buy an isa card for under 10 nucks. but it MUST support BPP or SPP mode and be standard ocompliant (it will say so on the box)
