has anyone tried to play this? it boots up fine, but the controls dont work. everytime you press fire it goes back to the title screen and the arrows dont work, you have to use the letters. any ideas why it does this?

I have tried it with this version and for me it works fine.
I think you are using an emulated joystick connected at port 1, the game works with the joystick in port 2.
In CCS64 you can press Alt/F10 and in Vice Alt/J to switch the joystick ports.
