joystick doesn't work

Hello,

Today i bought an joystick to use it for commodore games on windows xp.
The joystick is working fine in windows but i not with the commodore 64 games and i would like to play my all favourite game: BOULDERDASH!!

Can somebody please help me?
I know i have to change something in the emulator but i don't know what ...
