Color Pallet errors

Post by nukeum82 »

i have noticed that sevral games are being displayed incorecttly due to pallet errors which can make text which is supose to be grey on white background to show an off white or entierly white. after comparing the all ccs64 emulators to the original c64 i have figued out the correct the two errors.

#1 pallet #4 which suppose to be purple not a light violet. reset the pallet to 79-00-ae to get the correct color.

#2 pallet #15 which is an off-white should be D.grey reset pallet to 59-63-68 to correct the color.

There will never be any correct set of palette colour, but the most realistic are those by Pepto Timmerman. This is implemented already in CCS64, by using a PAL graphics mode, which is a little more intensive.

Colour Palette

Post by Atheryn »

I have been having colour palette problems with CCS64 also. I had been playing "Ultima V" on the PC64Win emulator, which had the colouring perfect - but then I switched to CCS64, and the colours looked very dull. So, I took a few screenshots from both PC64Win and CCS64, took a few notes, and cross-referenced the HTML colour codes in PaintShopPro, to come up with the following code list:

(#) (Colour) (HTML Code)
0 Black 202020
1 White FFFFFF
2 Red B02020
3 Cyan 70FFFF
4 Violet B020B0
5 Green 20B720
6 Dk Blue 2020B0
7 Yellow FFFF20
8 Orange B07020
9 Brown 904720
10 Pink FF7070
11 Dk Grey 707070
12 Grey 909090
13 Lt Green 70FF70
14 Lt Blue 7070FF
15 Lt Grey B0B7B0

After implimenting this colour-scheme into CCS64, the colours look normal.

Cheers,
Atheryn.
