Settings for Pirates

I use to play this game for hours on my commodore 64 and was glad to be able to play it again....I have a problem in CCS64 were i get to the main pirates load screen and mine will not go any further i have tried all kinds of pirates files...even download the versions on this forum that they say works i can get ti to work fine in vice64 but i would rather be able to play it in CCS64....so i am wondering if there are special setting i need to set to get this game to run....I also have tried to get red storm rising going and up till i get to the 2nd disk it is fine asoon as i put in the second disk it stops working i get to the place where it says engaging enemy and that is it...stay at that screen....And help would be appreciated thanks :)

If you switch to disk one just after you've checked sub status and before you click on general quarters you will get one step further. At least I managed to get to the screen just before the game itself if you know what I mean...
However, there it stops... For me... :cry:
