Losing sound output in other apps

Post by stevehelium »

Love CCS64 except for ONE thing. Whenever I use it VLC's sound goes out, so I cannot watch videos and play at the same time.

I read a bunch of posts here about the sound settings and have changed the sound output to the "primary" - had hoped that would fix it, but it hasn't.

After I quit CCS64, VLC's sound still does not work until I relaunch that app.

Any ideas? I want to really dig into my old favorite games but do so while watching some vids!

Thanks tons!

I think that this is because CCS64 wants exclusive access to the sound sub-system within DirectX in Windows.
Kind regards,

A workaround for this is disabling the sound output in CCS64.
CCS64 will leave the sound output for other apps alone then, but of course you will miss the SID sound.
