game not loading after 'press play on tape'

hi there.
so, i got ccs64, and used it to load and run 221b baker street which is split into three files (sides 1, 2 & 3, though i have no idea which one i'm supposed to be using to run the game). i type 'load' and press enter, then it says 'press play on tape'. after that, i've tried selecting various things (alt-8, f9, alt-1), turning the play button on then pressing esc to return to the load screen (dunno if i'm supposed to do that? seems to be the only thing i can do from there). then the screen reads:
searching
?break error
ready
ok and now, i've got the play button toggled to 'on', and i try again to load and run 221b, and the screen just says 'ready' again. what's the deeeeeeal?

I'm quite sure you have disk-images (D64).

Use alt-f8, choose side 1 and press enter. You will then get a listing of the files on the disk.
Now, you can either choose the file and press f1, Ff or enter
Or, you can press f3 and then type LOAD "(name of file)",8 and the run.
