Freeze states

Post by wilson »

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what versions of CCS64 changed the freeze state. I have some old saves in Legacy of the Ancients from around 2004 that will not work with 3.2 but if I load it from my save disk it works fine. I started looking for older versions trying them but I thought I would ask and see if anyone knows what versions changed or possibly is their an archive of old versions I could download for easier testing.

Also anyone happen to have a version of Alternate Reality:The Dungeon that works with a save disk. It hangs when you try to use one. Every version I found could only use freeze states to save. I enjoy the game enough to play it again but if the freeze state changes again I need to keep an older version handy or just load from disk if I can get version that has a working character disk. Thank you for any help.

The freeze state file format has changed in CCS64 V3.0. So, if you want to use your old freeze states from CCS64 V2.0, you will need (to write) a converter tool. I know that StevenRoy did write one such tool. See if you can contact him somehow - he may be able to help you.
Kind regards,
