Save to .prg file

Post by John1970 »

Is it possible to save from the emulator to a SINGLE (.PRG) file?
And I don't mean to create a blank disk image first and save the file to that image. I need to isolate single files for use with an MS-DOS based 6510 assembler/dissambler.

I found a way to do this around CCS64. I use Star Commander to copy single files from original c64 disks. But since Star Commander only operates when booted from DOS floppy and I need always to attach my 1541 drive to the pc (while I also have disk-images of all my disks) you can imagine this proces is quite time consuming.

So I rather do this from the emulator if possible. I believe other emulators support .prg files as output, but I rather stick to one emulator only. And I find this one the best. :D

Thanks in advance.

just use star commander to extract the .prg from the disk or tape image. it works fine under dos box even in XP, as long as you don't use it's 1541 interface.

There are many Windows-tools like DirMaster from Style and D64 editor that can export single files from a disk image to a prg file.

If you have .d64's on your PC then use ConGo Shell

Save/Load prg files

Post by ElMikele »

In the very last version (3.2) the godfather of CCS64 has implemented the requested feature: Load and Save PRG files.

You can find it under <-File> <BASIC> menue.

Thanks for the feature!
