New User, No Sound

Post by GreyPilgrim »

I've looked for the answer to my problem in the forums but I can't find it, so I'm sorry if I'm repeating a much aired question.

I need some help configuring the sound options as I'm not getting any through at the moment - complete silence. I've tried different options within the F9-->SOUNDS menu to no avail. Can anyone spare time to give me a dummies giude on how to make the sound work, or to help me identify whether it's my sound card thats the problem? Seeing screens from games that I used to play 15-20 years ago was such a blast!!! I'm just very frustrated that I'm not getting the tunes or sound effects either!!!

When you are on the Sound Device... option, use the arrow keys to select a sound play-back device/driver, e.g. Default Sound Device (DirectX) or another installed driver on your PC (when you select a Sound Device, the sound emulation will turn ON automatically). Escape from the menu, for it to take effect.
Kind regards,

Oddly enough, I just ran the program again after receiving your reply, and the sound is coming through fine...maybe I just needed to log off and on again..

Fantastic! thanks for getting back to me anyway!

I think that DirectX sometimes throws a wobbler and the graphics/sound go strange, because it happens for me sometimes (the sound). Normally, quitting and re-starting fixes it!

had an old machine under my bed at my parents house and always intended to 'have it repaired' one day. foundout recently that it had been binned!!! It's such a blast to come across the emulator and experience all those old games and tunes from so many years ago. Thought I had lost the experience forever! Thanks again Stuart
