Playing Questron Please Help

Post by Ingot »

life mission to solve this problem.

.
I have been searching for a good copy of Questron. One of the greatest adventure games ever made.

The problem I have with the current emulation images are that:

1. You can't gamble in casinos
2. When you get to the dungeons, they don't load.

Does anyone know how to fix this or can they provide me with a new
emulation of the game that will fix these issues?
I would also consider purchasing an original disk from someone.

please email me and/or answer here in the forum

I must agree that this is a great adventure game for the C64. I remember playing it back when my real c64 was up and running. Ahhh, good times, good times...So why shouldn't I relive those times with an emulator!?! Bad disk images, that's why :(

I wonder, did you ever find a good disk for this game? The disks I have let me create the character and then after I start loading into the game it comes to the page that asks for me to insert disk 2 and press return, but before I can do anything the emulator drops out to the Blue startup screen for the C64!! So following directions I insert the disk 2 and nothing happens of course. type RUN...nothing
Load "*",8 and RUN OUT OF DATA ERROR 900
If I leave disk 1 in there I get similar results.
So basically I guess I have a bad disk.

Think you can send me a good copy of Questron?

I have G64 images of the original disks. Give me your e-mail address, so I can send them to you.

yeah, I think questron is a game that requires sector IDs to work , so it needs g64. it has mismatched sector IDs as part of it's "protection"

Hi.. I just got into this emulator recently and have the same problem with the Questron files I am trying to use. They came with saved characters that allow me to get into the game, but I can't start a new character. Has anyone found a good set for this game?

I have an Amiga 500 so there are only a few 64 titles I remember that I don't have for the Amiga. Questron is the game that got me started all those years ago. lol.

Any help would be appreciated. Linksman@hotmail.com

Also, what is the g64 file and can that be used with CCS?

Thanks

Check your mail! 8)

A G64 is similar to a D64 image. They both are images of 5.25 inch diskettes. The difference is that a G64 image can contain more than a D64 image, like copy protections. So G64 images are often closer to the original than D64 images.
G64 images can be opened just as easy as D64's with CCS64.

Awesome, thanks a bunch. Gonna cut out of work early to try it out. :)

Questron is the only game that makes me wish I had kept my 64. I play my Amiga quite a bit still for old times sake.

Thanks again.
