Correct, there are C64 symbols which are not on an IBM style keyboard,
and vice versa there are IBM keys which didn't exist on the C64.

My proposed "text mode" would only map between those keys that
exist on both. My "game mode" would be exactly the map that ships
today with CCS64. The idea is ...

Joystick button and direction mutually exclusive?

Trying to play Snokie with a joystick. Got joystick calibrated
properly and I can move left and right and jump (button).
However, to play the game I need to jump and go right at
the same time, and when I try that one or the other is ignored.

Dual keymap & Hot Key for Toggling Them

I understand why the PC keys are remapped inside CCS64;
games (or other software) designed for the real C64 expect
the keys in that configuration and the user's input (e.g.up,down,right,left)
might have a shifted geometry and not work without it.

However, this logic doesn't apply at the C64 ...

How to Disable "Always on Top" behavior?

For some reason the simulator is set as "always on top"
which is usually reserved for the Windows Task Manager.
Normal applications should not force behavior on the user
like this--since the task manager is needed to kill runaway
apps, that is a special exception.
