Just tried it usign CCS64 2.0 and am getting the same results you did.

I would try posting a message on the comp.emulators.cbm newsgroup.

I have been playing Elite on CCS64 and have been saving my games using the Freeze feature. That way you can save the game anywhere, anytime you want.

Check the CCS64 documentation for all of the options, but I use:

F12 to freeze as filename "freeze.c64"
F11 to load "freeze .c64"

Alt-F12 to ...

Funny you ask. I just setup Elite to work with my Xbox gamepad. Elite was primarily a keyboard driven game in its day.

I used joytokey which is a utility that will map your joystick to keys and allow you to control any/all aspects of Elite. If you have any specific questions, let me know.
