I must agree that this is a great adventure game for the C64. I remember playing it back when my real c64 was up and running. Ahhh, good times, good times...So why shouldn't I relive those times with an emulator!?! Bad disk images, that's why
I wonder, did you ever find a good disk for this game ...

curse of azure bonds character icons missing in combat
I get this same problem, makes the game totally unplayable. I have tried both of the ROMs from c64unlimited (as the last guy mentioned trying that site). The problem shows up on both sets of disks. PAL and NTSC (both settings) still exhibits this issue. I've tried changing the pallettes. Refresh ...
