.d64 files generated with com1541

Hello,
there is a 'new' .d64 file format which supports GCR code and track error information used by some of the old copy protections (Ghostbusters) or the fast loader 'Heureka Sprint' (among others) implemented e.g. in the Turrican II original (as far as I know). I think this format also supports half tracks. The files are generated using an X1541 cable with the tool 'com1541' that is part of (the second best C64 emulator :-) C64S.
My question is if it would be possible to add (read) support for this file format to CCS64 or would that be too much effort compared to the benefit achieved (playing images from original games).
Thanks,
Tom

I'm no expert, but aren't you talking about the G64 file format here? If so, this is already supported.

Hi Stuart,
thanks for the reply and pointing out that there is a G64 file format, what I unfortunately didn't know until today.
By renaming one of my image files from .d64 to .g64 I noticed, that the files generated with 'com1541' are not compatible to the G64 file format. But that's no problem since the G64 format offers the same features and I can generate my disk images again using 'opencbm' as soon as I find the time to solder an XM1541 cable and hook up my 1571 to my desktop machine.
Kind regards,
Tom

That particular "new .d64 format" is a c64s exclusive and no one else knows how it works. It only works in that emulator.
