General Cartridge questions

Post by unclet »

1) I found some CRT files and a lot of them have multiple files.

Examples:

MS_PAC_M.CRT
MS_PAC_2.CRT
MS_PAC_3.CRT

FROGGER_.CRT
FROGGER2.CRT
FROGGER3.CRT
FROGGER4.CRT
FROGGER5.CRT

Are these multiple files actually separate dumps of the games or are these multiple cartridges required to play Ms PacMan and Frogger? If they are all needed, then do I need to load them all at the same time

2) It seems a lot of the games for the C64 use different key mappings ... is there a way to force each of the games to use common keypresses, rather than having to switch KeySets for different games?

As far as I know, each CRT file is a complete dump of a cartirdge; therefore, this would suggest that they are duplicates. However, I am no expoert on C64 Cartridges.

Also, ensure that you have set-up your Input... settings correctly and they will be retained by CCS64. You should not need to change them, unless there is a conflict, or if you have mapped a key incorrectly. Note that some games the emulated joystick ports to be swapped, in order to work properly - there is an option to do this for you, without you needing to re-configure any of the settings.
Kind regards,
