I often have problems with musics especial in demos. CCS64 V2.0 beta doesn`t play the filter effects correct. I tried to change the SID version but nothing happend. Does changing the filter settings help?

Filtering is a gamble

It isn't really possible to have the filter 100% correct because the filters vary greatly from computer to computer. I had two real C64s and I had music that would play okay on one that sounded absolutely terrible on the other. Sometimes one was better, sometimes the other one was.

CCS64's filtering doesn't sound exactly like either one, but it's good enough for me... And if something does sound absolutely terrible because of CCS64's filter, I can just turn it off! That's not that great for programs that rely on the filtering for a particular effect, but I've seen very few programs that do that.

Of course, you can feel free to experiment with the filter parameters shown on the "sound options" screen... I've never fiddled with them myself (And I have no idea what they actually do to the filtering.) but it's a fairly safe bet that it'll either make things sound better or worse.

The SID/SID Filter emulation isn't really finished yet. Hakan knows this. However, this is very difficult to perfect. I think it is a long-term task.
