Video Recording

Hello, I have both versions of the CCS64. Version 3.5 and 3.8. I tried some of the new options in 3.8 when it came to record a video of me playing the games. Everything works fine like in the previous version, but when you go to edit it or convert it no go. It seems like nothing can support it. Now, I have tried in the options in 3.8 and chose camtasia as my recording option. I am able to edit my video in their only one problem, my video comes out small.
My question is how can we record and be able to edit it with most video software programs or convert it. Is there a download file I need to get? If so, could someone point me to the file I need and link please? Also, what is the best video format that you would suggest to try? I tried quite a few of the video options, but not all of them.
