Currently have a new laptop with vista (directx 10). Whenever I try to run 3.5 it processes unbearably slow and actually freezes the computer on and off. After about 10 minutes of this the actual signature C64 screen finally shows up. Does anyone else have problems running in Vista? I have compatibility checked for Vista service pack 2 as well as disabling visual themes, running in 256 colors and 640x480 resolution. Help?

Set the Compatibility for Windows XP SP2. Also, perhaps try 16-bit colours.
I think this may be a graphics driver problem...
There are lots of problems with Vista - are you on Vista SP1 and using most up-to-date & compatible graphics drivers from the manufacturer?

Yes I've got compatibility mode set for xp service pack 2 as well as having tried a few others. I have Vista service pack1 and all graphics drivers are up to date. I have an nvidia 8600M GS. Even went down to 8bit graphics and no luck. Version 2 however still works fine, as well as WinVice. So perhaps I can get by... somehow

any other help will still be greatly appreciated.
