The Detective Game

Hi everyone, I loaded the detective game and it says "press fire to start". I dont have a joystick and I just read the other titles in this forum to get some more info. I just read the tips about "input" "joystick set" etc.. I tried everything but the game is not starting. Any help is highly welcomed.
