Help! I ahve always enjoyed playing Dreadnoughts (Avalon Hill) on my old C64. Imagine my delight to find that there is a disk image for this game and that it runs on CCS64. The only problem is after finishing the game (when Bismarck returns to port) it says loading LOADING VICTORY CONDITIONS and a final score summary NEVER appears!

This was not a problem with the original, but I have noticed it with every version of CCs64 I have used.

Anyone know what's up?

Does it NEVER appear, or does it just take a very long time?

You may want to try setting 1541 Maximum Speed setting to On (in order to speed-up) or Off (in order to set original behaviour). Also, try loading the game with Load (Normal), instead of the default method (i.e. Load (Fast)), or the LOAD"*",8,1 from BASIC method instead.

After all of that, try different versions of the 1541 ROM, then the Kernel ROM. CCS64 comes with Revision 2 of the Kernel ROM, when you ought to use Revision 3 instead.

After that, try to download another image file of the game, to see if it is a corrupt image. One is not available from Magyar C64 HQ, so try elsewhere.

I know it's a pain, but the fact that CCS64 loads the rest of the game, indicates to me that the problem is not with CCS64 itself, but perhaps with the game image you're using, or a ROM file compatibility issue.
