Might and Magic I !help!

Post by Runenklinge »

Hi all,

I've just downloaded CCS64 and I have no clue about the C64. I just wanted to play this old game, but when asked to insert 'Disk B', I load that rom file (at least I think I do) and press Return, but nothing happens! How do I get the game to load?

Also, on a sidenote, my boxes produce strange scratching sounds, although the intro had some correctly played music. Is this supposed to happen?

You probably need to press <SPACE BAR> or Fire to confirm the disk change to the game.

The key above the TB key on the PC keyboard is the emulated RUN/STOP key on the C64 keyboard! Have a look at the CCS64 HTML file, which describes special keys.

Sorry, yes, I'm wrong, but you know what I'm getting at anyway. I don't know why I thought that! That's what you get when you reply too quickly...

i have read it all and the file just doesnt work. have re downloaded the disk file from the net and it still dont work. i think the file is corrupt.

i know how to change disks etc etc but for this series of games you need to create a backup disk (a copy of the original disk) and then save to it. i have made a copy of the disk file but saves dont work even with saving set to continuous.

i still dont know what to do after all the reading.

have also tried to create a new d64 file and i go to dir and press f1 to create and nothing happens

have you played these games on the emulator before? try it out and you will see exactly what i mean. is very frustrating as you have to be able to save the game to play it or have your computer switched on for a year :)

any advice after trying it out on what i can do to get save games happening would be gr8

thanks

When browsing for files in 1541 Device 8, select the "." entry, then press F1 for Create New D64, then enter the full file name and press <ENTER>. The new D64 file with the name specified will be created.
