I haven't started CCS64 for a few weeks but since today I don't manage to use it anymore.
After e.g. pressing ALT+O the display freezes and the emulator doesn't react anymore.
Still it's possible to access the top menu with the mouse and change the language for example.
Only way to end the program is to kill it via the task manager.
I tried to "re-install" the emulator, deleted the CFG file but it didn't help.
Does someone have a similar problem or a clue what could cause this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Michael
PS: I have recently updated my 64-Bit PC from Windows 8 Pro to 8.1
CCS64 v3.9 freezes

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Same problem here. After upgrading to windows 8.1 CCS64 often becomes unresponsive. After pressing F9 the emulated machine becomes slower and slower and becomes unresponsive after about 15 seconds. Everyhthing worked fine in Windows 7 and Windows 8. Looks like it's caused by Windows 8.1.
Other emulators, like Vice and Hoxs64 work fine under Windows 8.1.
Tried to use compatibility mode, delete cfg file, use different rom revision etc. No luck.

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Any more people with Windows 8.1? On my system everything works fine in Windows 7, Windows 8, but not on Windows 8.1/
Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Same for me.
CCS64.EXE runs fine on all OS'es, except Win8.1.
However, CCS64-2005.exe from the No-installer package, works fine under Windows 8.1.
That's a bit strange, because this binary is compiled especially to work on very old operating systems, like Windows 98.
But until it's fixed, you can use CCS64-2005.exe.

For me CCS64-2005.exe doesn't work fine but at least it won't crash like CCS64.exe

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Already tried ccs64-2005. Indeed it runs a lot better, however after a while it also freezes. It just takes a lot longer.
So it looks like there's some serious issue with CCS64 and Windows 8.1.

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
I think it's a compiler issue. When I user version 3.7 it works fine in windows 8.1
I hope Hakan finds some time to fix this. There are a few minor bugs, but this one is quite major. Version 3.9 is completely unusable on windows 8.1 unfortunately.
It's probably Microsoft's fault, but maybe Hakan can find a way to get it working again.

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Is Hakan aware of the problems with Windows 8.1? Is really weird, because everything worked fine in windows 8.
Anyway, I hope he can fix this problem, because I'd love to use my favorite C64 emulator again.
If Hakan needs someone to test, please let me know if I can help.

Re: CCS64 v3.9 freezes
Just tried the new 3.9.1 version and it works just fine in Windows 8.1. Thanks for fixing this Hakan!
