Transferring the real c-64 games over

Post by Chris2222 »

I have a whole lot of C-64 games on 5-1/4" floppies.

Is there any way, or how can I put those files using my PC into files so that I can play in my emulator?

A long time ago, I managed to create a cable that connects a C64 1541 drive to an old PC's printer port (it was a brand-spanking-new 75 MHz Pentium) and use a program called "Star Commander" to transfer my entire library to D64 files.

The instructions on how to create such a cable, plus the "Star Commander" program (or a modern equivalent), might still be out there somewhere.

If it were me, I would try downloading them somewhere. Some games are still available, and you can download emulators that will run them.

I fixed the link above... Just in case anyone wants to utilize the service. Keep in mind, this often fails if the original disk has copy protection on it, but you never know.
