SBLive XP Sound Problems

Post by wmedia »

Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I am running CCS64 3.0 on XP with a Soundblaster Live soundcard, DirectX 9, and a 1.6GHz processor.

The emulator is slow and juddery, and the sound is scrambled and glitchy. I've tried all possible sound settings.

I get the same problem on CCS64 2.0 and directX 8.

Anyone else had this problem?

I think it's your sound drivers. They need to be upgraded. I used to have problems with Sound Blaster 16 PCI sound drivers with Windows Me, but Creative Labs seemed to improve their sound drivers recently.

Also try to use the Default Sound Device, instead of the Windows MCI WaveOut sound driver in CCS64.
Kind regards,

Stuart Toomer.
