Karateka

Post by amix »

Hi,

this is for the evalutation version of CCS64 3.1.

CCS64 seems to be the only emulator able of playing Karateka (the others drop out, whenever I hit a key). At least to a certain point. In the dungeon, when I come to the steel door, I can not pass through it. The door is open, but the character always bounces against it and loses health.

Any ideas ? I need desperatley a full AVI recording of the game Karateka played to the end, including credits and whatnot, so I would like to be able to play it.

Thank you.
Bye, Andreas

Have you tried different versions of the Kernel/1541 ROMs? Perhaps you might have a corrupt image, so try also downloading another verison of the game (e.g. from Magyar C64 HQ or somewhere).
Kind regards,

Why play it for yourself when somebody else already did?

Hi,
i don't play it since long time... but, if i remember it correclty, you should pass under the gate on "guard" position, not on running..

did you already tried on this way?

It's not the gate which you need to pass quickly in guard-position I am talking about. That is outside of the castle. It's a door in the dungeon, a steel-dor. It's clearly a bug in the ROMs or in the emulators.

Please try with the latest version (CCS64 V3.3) and C64 Kernel ROM Revision 3, then report back if there is still a problem.

Some minor bug-fixes are being made in CCS64 V3.4, which is currently WIP, and hoping to be released soon.
Kind regards,

Stuart Toomer.

You are running into an ingame protection. your copy is bad.

Get one from remember or nostalgia (oneof them did this game)
