Post by Naqser »

still got my brothers old C64 and in good shape and am going to make a cable from my computer to it to get games to it, but since it'll take some time i downloaded CCS64 and got boulderdash, now i got the game loaded and get to choose letter and normal or space, but then it kinda locks, can't start playing, have defined keys and all that but the game just won't start, i was very young when i played bouldedash on the original C64 i got help from my parents and brothers but now i can't remember how they did, what do you do when u got to the exactly step by step to get it running?

So you basically need a tutorial on using the emulator? If so Stuart will have a link.
When is the C64 gonna make a comeback?! LOL

Try the following CCS64 HTML help file first:

If you need more help, then just reply to this topic.

I tried this version of Boulder Dash.
This way it works for me:
- In the Input menu of CCS64, set Control Port 1 to Joystick Keyset 3 and Control Port 2 to None.
- After the game is loaded, press space to leave the intro screen.
- Press Space again to leave the title screen.
- Press Esc (=Run/Stop) to leave instructions.
- Press F1 to start a new game.
- You can select a cave to start by moving the joystick left/right (arrow left/right when using keyset 3).
- You can select a level by moving joystick up/down (Arrow up/down for Keyset 3).
- Press fire (right Control key for Keyset 3) to start a new game
