Can't get past the menu screen in Alien: 2 options available, says
" Control=1 Full Game"
" Control =2 Short Scenario"
or the other way round. Anyway, the keyboard doesn't respond to any
key press at this point ( except F9 ). Any help appreciated.

The Tab key on you PC keyboard acts like the Control key on a real Commie. So try Tab/1 and Tab/2.
